EARTHQUAKE RISK

Golder provides a broad scope of services to the development community in earthquake risk. As real estate needs have changed, Golder has assembled the technical expertise to meet these earthquake risk needs, building on our historically strong geotechnical and environmental consulting services.

Thank you for visiting the web zone for Golder Associates' Ottawa
office, proudly serving clients since 1967.  Our staff of 52 includes
33 professionals that offer complete services in environmental
management, waste management and permitting, environmental audit and assessment, risk assessment, physical and contaminant hydrogeology, industrial waste and wastewater treatment, brownfields redevelopment, groundwater resource evaluation, GIS, biological resource assessment, geotechnical engineering, earthquake risk engineering, inspection and testing, and materials engineering.

During construction, Golder is serving as the City's on-site representative, responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities.  We will also provide specialist engineering support for critical activities such as foundation cleaning and pressure grouting of fractures in the underlying bedrock.

The project is technically challenging because of its large size and because it has to be designed for a magnitude 8 earthquake risk at a distance of 8 kilometers from the site. The construction schedule is very tight so that the project can be brought on line as soon as possible.
